now I'm sad

Poster Message:
YOU and your daughter aren't excited about starting college life because she didn't get in PhiMu?? And YOU came on here to what? Rant, or get sympathy? Whoa. This makes me really sad for you both, but mostly HER. I went into rush with PhiMu as my top too, and guess what? That was the ONLY sorority I got dropped from! Seems I wasn't a fit for them, and, turns out, I wasn't!!! They are a great group, but come'on Mom! It seems your attitude could have changed her's easily with a simple "keep your mind open, the right group for YOU is in one of the other 16!" I really hope you come back and report where YOU, I mean your daughter ended up, and that she (and YOU) are happy with HER new sisterhood! You are exactly the definition of why EVERYONE SAYS TO KEEP AND OPEN MIND AND LOOK AT ALL OF THE SORORITIES and let her choose! It really does work out the way it should, and MOST are REALLY HAPPY IN THE END. Going in and only wanting one or two groups is the biggest mistake anyone can make at an SEC school. This isn't your rush Mom, it's her's, and it's her first chance to make a decision without you; let her grow up and let her fail a time or two. She's probably more upset that you're upset! She wants to please you. In the end, you and she will be happier. Good luck to your DAUGHTER today. I hope she didn't drop and YOU will be supportive tomorrow! She's in for four great years with a great group of girls and many friends from other groups, including PhiMu.
