Both have competitive recruitment processes, but Alabama is a little bit more high stakes in that you’re paying a lot more, and the campus culture is much more Greek focused than auburn. At Auburn, most people don’t care too much about being Greek/not being Greek and at Alabama, a bigger percentage of the campus is Greek and it’s more expected. I think if you have the values that Auburn sororities look for— generally conservative, religious, nice, involved, smart— you will easily find a home in one of the sororities at Auburn even if you are OOS. Bama sororities have a little more distinct “personalities”/stereotypes, so each house looks for different things in their PNMs. That being said, Greek life at Alabama is much more friendly to OOS girls, and even the most southern houses at bama (AGD and XO) are more than 50% OOS. If you are FAR OOS, auburn’s Recruitment can be tough. All in all, both schools have an awesome Greek life and you really can’t go wrong! Both schools have awesome sisterhoods and lots of fun.
