I don’t know where the distinction between northern and southern comes from. I can’t think of any sorority from Auburn considered more “northern”. Like poster above said they all prob have 65% from Alabama and you’ll most probably hear a “hey y’all” from all of them. I will say I think connections aren’t end all be all. The weird thing about recruitment is that there really are so many factors. I knew a girl who’s mother was president of one of the chapters here and the girl was still dropped. I knew two others that had the supposed connections but then were kinda blindsided by their “friends”. I could go off on more but the point is that each girl still ended up in a sorority perfect for them. Having connections are important but if you don’t have as many it’s okay just take the time to really sell yourself with grades, involvement, and conversation! If you want the extra help, sign up for things like OAKS during the summer or make a point to meet the CWE girls.
