#2 1) A sorority's 1st bid list of PNM's matches with all the PNM's on that list who put that house first. Remember that the number of names on the 1st bid list is equal to quota. When a PNM is matched, that’s one down for that sorority and her name is then removed from all other houses' bid lists because she is now unavailable. Any houses who had her on their 1st bid list must now go to their 2nd bid list to move the next girl in rank up, so each house is working from a 1st bid list that equals quota. 2) This goes around again, matching sorority 1st bid lists to PNM’s first choices and moving up girls from their 2nd lists as girls are matched. Pass after pass is made, always working to the ever-changing 1st bid list of quota. 3) As each chapter reaches quota, they are done and drop out of the process. The remaining chapters continue on the same way until they too reach quota and are all done. The matching process is complete when all chapters either reach quota or finally exhaust their bid lists. PNM’s who were invited to only one preferential party and attended are guaranteed a bid to that house.
