Why don't they accept their current position and bid people who want to grow the fraternity into a top house? I rushed a semi-new "lower tier" fraternity freshman year because I liked the prospect of being a big fish in a little pond vs. little fish in a big pond, so to speak. They would also be somewhat more respected if they didn't straight up lie to rushees. Sigma Pi is a great example of a "middle-tier" fraternity. They seem to not care what their rank on a damn website is and have fun. I have respect for those guys and, obviously, the big 4.
