Sorority Alum

Poster Message:
I live in Atlanta, am a Phi Mu alum and do A LOT of recommendations for young women going through recruitment at Auburn. What I can tell you is that all of the chapters at Auburn have a lot to offer. I do have a friend whose daughter is currently an active in the Phi Mu chapter and loves it...but I can also say the same about friends whose daughters are Zetas, Thetas, DGs, ADIIs and in other chapters...it is about finding the best fit, and PNMs who pursue this with open minds do usually find the right sorority for them. The open mind is critical in any SEC recruitment. Is Auburn competitive? You bet it is, and legacies get cut, but every girl I know who has rushed there had a successful recruitment and is happy with the results. They were all out-of-state students, too, so that had no impact. They did approach it with open minds, looked at each round with fresh eyes (rather than dropping out if they didn't get invited back by a favorite) and maximized their options throughout the process. Make sure your daughter has recommendations to every chapter. These have become very important to making it through the early rounds in SEC recruitment. It it usually advised to have two recs to each chapter. Best wishes to your daughter! All the sororities are great!
