The "tier" mentality ??

Top tiers at Auburn are filled with guys and girls who got bids thanks to their alumni parent begging for their spot. Those same "top tiers" would not have received their bids had it not been for their helicopter parents. Legacies get rejected all the time. The rejectable ones that get bids are the ones that had parents who begged or played politics to avoid their kid being dropped during rush. The tier system is meaningless. I went through rush and am in a middle tier sorority (according to this list) . I chose middle over ( according to this list) top and upper middle sororities. I dropped them because one group had members that had crazy written all over them. The other group , by their own admission, had fewer senior members and girls that seemed to have their priorities in the wrong order ( trying to be nice). I went through rush looking for a sisterhood , not a tier position. If I had joined either one of those 2 sororities, I know I wouldnt have had the sorority experience that I wanted and have. Glad I didnt make the mistake of focusing on tier position during rush.
