I'd like to address some misconceptions that some have about Greek life. I keep reading on these pages that you might as well not try to join a sorority if you do not have lots of money. This is just not true. My husband and I have jobs that we love, in fields that do NOT pay high salaries. Our daughter has a partial scholarship and works part time to help meet costs. Yes, we do make some sacrifices so that she can be involved with her sorority because she loves it so much, but believe me, we could not do this if it were through the roof expensive. We do not have six car garages or beach homes and trust funds. While there are girls in her group whose families are financially well off, she has never been treated as anything but a sister by these ladies or their parents. Don't avoid Greek life because you think you have to be wealthy. There are ways to make it work. Leave old ideas behind and find out for yourself if it is something you would be happy doing. War Eagle!!
