Rank does matter. I'm not going to say that I would judge someone based on their affiliation. This is what I mean. I joined two sororities at UCI. I rushed a sorority but dropped (this was a while ago, not recent) because even though the girls were nice, they weren't the most exciting to party with, they didn't have the best frat relations, we weren't super competitive with Greek events and our stuff wasn't as cute. So I dropped and ended up joining one of the top chapters. The girls were also nice, but they were so much more fun to party with, knew all the guys to kick it with, are super motivated and do well in Greek. It honestly made my experience so much better. I know everyone has their own opinions about what makes their experience best, but I will say that sororities that try really hard, are competitive, and have good frat relations can definitely enhance your experience.
