"Look, your Greek experience is going to vary. Being in a "top tier" frat/sorority isn't going to guarantee a great time, and focusing on how other people perceive your house is meaningless, if not detrimental, to your experience. All over this site there's tons of ranking and stereotyping, but in the end, no one is going to know what your house is like unless they're actually in it. If you're fun/interesting/good looking/athletic/etc., your house is going to have no effect on that. Being in a bottom tier frat/sorority isn't going to keep you from fun parties or meeting new friends--it's not going to be a limiting factor unless you make it one. In my four years in the Greek system, not once have I heard someone get excluded because their house wasn't "good enough." Being in a top house isn't going to guarantee you a good experience unless you work for it. Plenty of people in top houses depledge or deactivate, and it's no reflection of the chapter's rank. Your Greek experience is what you're going to make of it. Don't let someone else's opinion affect how you feel towards your chapter and experience. If you find brotherhood/sisterhood, make some awesome memories, and go to all the events that interest you, then you've succeeded. Stop worrying about how good your house looks, or what your house is going to say about you. After 4 years, it's not going to ever matter again, so just go out and have fun."
