the charges against them were not lifted and sigma pi still couldnt receive chapter awards (and they didnt because of that). however they could still apply for individual awards which they did. sigma pi still had to pay $4,000 in fines and couldnt participate in fall sports. so basically they bought and threatened their way out of it.
