The biggest mistake you can make is begin judging fraternities and sororities by this website. Even if you think you have an idea of which are the top houses here, that house may not be the best fit for you. Also, the idea of a "top house" is trivial and your at college to escape that status BS that corrupted high school. Go to the anteater involvement fair during week 0 and meet as many members from each fraternity/sorority as you can. Rush the ones you like the best. PERIOD. If you like 2 or 3 houses evenly, then split your time during rush week with all those houses and try to find the best fit for you. This is mainly for fraternities since sororities have their own special type of recruitment. Don't try to get an idea of each fraternity through the posts on this site. A lot of the info is straight up incorrect. Not saying that its all wrong, but some of it is. The right house is definitely here for you, just go and physically find it during week 0. Even if your not trying to join a fraternity, I highly encourage everyone to attend rush events. Rush week is by far the most fun week at UCI and its a great opportunity to meet people. Also, all the events are free.
