This is blatantly untrue. Give it a chance if you think it can work, but know that many many girls do drop and re-rush if they don't feel comfortable. And they're successful, I know many and was one myself. I was shocked on bid day and the second time got my top choice and while you shouldn't judge on tier, don't force it out of pity either.
