Something to keep in mind is you're probably feeling disappointed about not getting your top pick(s), like "why me?" It's definitely a bummer to see another girl in the letters you wanted and think "why wasn't I as high on the bid list?" Even if your new sisters are sweet that's a tough thing to shake off, I totally get it. The important thing to remember is that the way bid lists work it's not that those houses didn't want you, they just couldn't take all the girls they loved enough to pref. if you think about it that way it starts to take the sting out of getting 2nd or 3rd choice and feel less like a personal rejection. Don't totally ignore the disappointment, let yourself feel it and process it, but don't let it blind you to the love you're being offered at your new house! And also, don't just decide on the basis of your bid day buddy or the few women you've met. I didn't meet my future big right away, it took a few days before I really met a lot of the girls in my house when I was a NM. Feeling sad is natural but don't let it drive you away from a great group of girls!
