technically, a group can give out snap bids to anyone they like. They don't necessarily have to have gone through recruitment. That's quota additions (which is done before bids are distributed, so, no one knows who is a QA). HOWEVER, that being said, snap bids are typically very unlikely, and if they are offered, most groups will know who they're going to and won't just pick someone random. Girls that have gone through recruitment and didn't receive a bid or dropped out are the most likely contenders for snap bids because the groups got to meet them. Your best chance is to do formal recruitment when you're a freshman. Try to clear up your schedule so you can participate.
