Recruitment is a funnel. If you think about it, so is life. It's connections, looks, what you bring to benefit the organization and then maybe your grades/activities. Yes, things should be more transparent when you register, but you know they are not going to tell you this. There will still be some girls that land in sororities without connections or looks etc., but that is not the norm.
