During recruitment, it seems like magic. Join this chapter and you will instantly have the bond of sisterhood with 250+ women! And then you join and realize you don't actually know any of them, or where they're from, or what they do for fun. And everyone has class to go to and studying to do and suddenly the happy bubble of recruitment is gone. EVERYONE goes through this. The expectations set during recruitment don't carry through to real life. You can't reasonably expect to become insta-BFFs with 250 people, and it's an emotional letdown. If you're looking for something to try, you could announce at a new member meeting that you're going to some sort of campus event (pick one, there are always a million) or starting a study group or really anything, and ask if any other new members want to join you. I guarantee other people in your class feel the same way, and at least one of them will jump at the chance to make a new friend.
