Your experience is not the norm, so while this advice is nice, it is not going to be the case for most juniors (even if they carry themselves well and have confidence). Glad it worked out for you, and it definitely can work out for some juniors...But I feel like your advice places it all on the junior if they don't do well...the reality is that there IS a bit more of a hurdle being upperclassmen and also there is some luck involved, and other factors too. Being confident, etc helps, but doesn't guarantee success.
