Happened to me as well as to two close friends (met them both after rush). Both of them are fantastic people and I still can't imagine why no one wanted them as sisters. A lot of people have told me I'm extremely friendly, and get confused when they hear I was cut. To be totally honest, I'd still be willing to sit down with someone and be told why, Pandora's Box-y as it is, but that's never gonna happen.
