A note of positivity from someone who rushed and was gunning for “top houses,” but trusted the process and my gut, and ended up in the best house for me: Unless you are going in completely blind, haven’t read anything about any sorority and know no one in any house prior to rush, you will go through rush with pre-concieved notions. It’s easy to tell you to not do that, but no PNM is going to listen to something so cliched. Instead, I am just here to tell you that the process will help you and the process will take you to where you need to go. Do not be upset over a house dropping you because if you feel that you belong somewhere and they don’t call you back, then you didn’t belong there. You deserve to be in a house where you feel safe, and comfortable and welcome. You may think you want a top tier house and scoff at bottom and middle tier houses but trust me, if you are a top tier person with a top tier attitude, no matter which sorority you end up in, you will be happy and you will thrive. You can be in one sorority and have close friends in another. You can be in one sorority and be friends with boys in any fraternity. It isn’t what sorority you affiliate yourself with, it’s who you are that will ultimately decide your future and happiness in greek life. Be confident and trust the process. Trust your Pi Chis and most importantly, trust yourselves. We as UF Panhellenic cannot wait to greet our PC’16s!!!!
