If we are talking about sororities then I can tell you that while it isn't the most common thing to do it is this a very common thing. A lot of girls who didn't rush at the beginning there freshman year shill want to go through formal recruitment and be a part of a big pledge class, see all there options. If you are wanting to go through recruitment I say do it. You will be asked a lot of questions about high school because they will most likely assume you are an incoming freshman but just let them know so you can move on and talk about something else.
