I came back after thinking maybe I didn't answer your questions directly enough lol. Yes, it is possible to get into the house of your choice with a 3.8 gpa and a good HS resume without knowing anyone (providing they like you as much as you like them) but it will help your chances if you know someone in that house and they are pulling for you.
