You've just gone thru an entire pledge program and don't know the brothers in the house? It's not a petty argument or arrogant, it's just symbolism. I had the misfortune of unexpectedly being at a Brother's wake on Sunday, 22 years post my URI graduation and 60 guys turned up for it---THAT'S RESPECT my young friend, and there is NO VERSION of "FRAT" in the Fraternity that i continue to be a part of. It was INSTILLED in us all (along with many other respect items) to never use the word "frat"---It astounded me back then when guys at other houses referred to their house as a "frat", and still does obviously or I wouldn't be spending time debating the subject.
