Take everyone else’s criticism and/or praise about houses with a grain of salt. Go on your gut feeling about where you feel the most comfortable. I joined a “top tier” sorority during my time at Iowa, and only keep in touch with 1 girl. I think about what it would have been like if I had joined a house based on something other than the proclaimed status. That’s not to say you can’t make lifelong friends in “top houses”, but I chose the wrong house for ME and regret it. It might seem really important to join a house that other people think highly of… but you are the one that has to spend the next 3-4 years with these people. Make it count :)
