<strong>Subject:</strong><br />Greek life needs to take a stand<br /><br /> Poster Message:
The university is literally killing Greek life. They’ve pushed IFC rush back another week. Bid day is now on September 25. In 2020 bid day was on September 2. Iowa FSL is attempting to kill the rush process. If they keep this behavior up, we will be a school with no Greek life for fall freshman. IFC enrollment has also dropped by 500 members in the same time period Not to mention their ridiculous rules on no tailgating, no out of town formals, and a limit of 3 events with alcohol. Iowa’s goal is to make fraternities and sororities glorified clubs and erase their tradition and culture As members of your chapter is it your duty to make a stand against these draconian rules. Talk to your chapter presidents and board, get them to advocate for their organizations. We need to come together as a community for this to happen No other state university in the country has such strict regulations and harsh punishments. It is ridiculous we are subject to probation, suspension, or a ban if we have the slightest infraction. This is a call to take action. Give power back to the chapters and out of the hands of the frankly oppressive FSL. Let’s make this our year. 2023 WILL be different
