So if you single preference and receive a bid, then no one would know. If you do not receive a bid to the house you single preference, then you are eligible for a snap bid (for a chapter to call and offer you a bid on bid day if they have room in their pledge class). The snap bid list will state whether a girl did not receive a bid originally because they withdrew from recruitment, and what round, or if they single preferenced. It would not be known what house you put down, but it could hurt your chances as chapters would then know that you were not giving everyone a fair chance, or didn't put them down after preference. In addition, last year, there were women who did not receive any bid because they single preferenced. We had one girl last year who "suicided" us, and did not receive a bid, even though there was still room in our pledge class. She later joined through the informal recruitment process, thus how we learned that this happens.
