Suiciding gives you no advantage and the only way a chapter knows if you suicided them is if you tell them or someone on the PHA recruitment team tells them for some reason. If Alpha Phi wants you, you would get into their chapter regardless of whether or not you suicided them. In fact, suiciding puts you at a slight disadvantage because you are not eligible for 'quota-plus' if you don't maximize your options. The only reason to suicide is if you know for a fact you would decline a bid if it was offered to you (because you're taking someone else's spot that wanted that bid). But that being said, it's better to trust the system and be open to all houses during pref round because you may love them later on, even if you didn't like the sorority you initially got your bid from. Good luck with Alpha Phi (Not in that chapter, but the girls I know in it are great), but definitely try to be a bit more open in case you don't get in. I promise that you can find great friends and have terrific experiences in any chapter here.
