The people writing your recs should send them to the appropriate VP of Recruitment. And it may or may not help your changes. Depends on how they cut. If you're scored too low in a certain area, your friends can't help you. Your name wouldn't even come up for discussion. However, it may help in later rounds or, if you make it to pref round, for bumping you up towards the top of the bid list.
