I'm seeing a lot on here where freshmen girls seem to only think 4 or sometimes 5 houses are worth joining. If you have the mentality now then please drop out. You will NOT fit in to all of the top chapters. Even though they are top, they fill a niche and I guarantee that while you may fit in some, you absolutely will not fit in all. Literally every girl going through recruitment has either pi phi, theta, dg, aphi, or sometimes kd at the top of their list right now. Be aware that these houses cut heavily and are good recruiters-they know how to keep a conversation going but will cut about half the girls after the first round. Not saying it is impossible to get a bid, but if you're only letting yourself be interested in about a quarter of the chapters you're setting yourself up for disappointment. It sucks, but the thing that determines rankings is frats opinions (aka attractiveness). If you're only interested in being in a pretty sorority you are only perpetuating negative stereotypes of Greek life. Plus our middle and even BOTTOM houses have their fair share of gorgeous girls. Go through recruitment knowing what you want beyond reputation--academics, involvement, philanthropy, etc instead of attractiveness Also note that NO ONE has a perfect rush. Even girls currently in pi phi were dropped by houses they liked during rush. I don't care how pretty you are or how popular you were in hs, you will have at least one day of cuts that hurt. So keep an open mind.
