August 18, 2015 Dear Fraternal and Sorority Partners: In May 2015, Kappa Kappa Gamma suspended the operations of Beta Nu Chapter at The Ohio State University for two years. Last February, the chapter hosted an unsanctioned event at which alcohol was provided to underage members and hazing occurred. As a result, Beta Nu Chapter was also suspended until May 7, 2017, by The Ohio State University. Please communicate with your chapter at Ohio State to let them know that at this time Kappa Kappa Gamma is an unrecognized, uninsured group and that, as such, other groups should not be participating in events with them. While the National Panhellenic Conference does not have a specific policy to address interactions with unrecognized or suspended women’s chapters or groups, we would hope that the policy pertaining to the men’s fraternities can serve as a model for this situation, “Events With Recognized Fraternities (2013)—NPC member groups agree to advise their collegiate chapters to plan or participate in events with men’s fraternities only when those men’s fraternities are not suspended for reasons of organizational misconduct.” Thank you for your assistance with this matter. Kappa is hopeful that with your help, we can curtail any underground activity involving the former undergraduate members of Beta Nu Chapter in order to ensure the well-being and safety of the Ohio State student community. Interfraternally, Beth Black Patty Gesell Fraternity President NPC Delegate
