Sororities are structured similarly. The "top tier" also known as "the big 5" are Kappa, DG, Pi Phi, Theta and Alpha Phi. It is hard to determine who truly is the best, because just like sororities, fratenrity pledge classes have their favorite sororities. However, it is safe to say that Kappa, DG and Pi Phi are a little better than Theta and APhi, as Theta is very grade oriented and not as social and APhi has been letting in some not-so-favorable members. These sororities are considered the top because they are into partying and consistently have the best looking members as compared to other sororities (in the words of my frat friends, not me!). The middle tier consists of KD, Chi O, AGD, Tri Delt and depending on who you ask, maybe one or two more. These sororities aren't as social oriented as the top, but are much more involved on campus and typically have good grades (not to say the top doesn't have good grades or high involvement, just where the middle shines as opposed to socially). KD probably does more with top tier houses than the others, but is still not looked on as favorably by guys in top houses (their words, not mine). Any other sororties aren't very well known and would be considered lower tier. In cocnlusion, the top tier are more preppy and more into partying, while the middle is more into ssterhood and campus involvement (from as an objective POV I can give. Hope this helps clear the air for you PNMs out there.
