For those of you thinking about rushing this Spring, here is how it is in the real world from the view point of a senior sorority member. People can say what they want on this website, but that doesn't change what actually happens in the real world in OSU Greek Life. As far as fraternities go, Phi Psi, Sigma Chi and TKE are what would be considered "top tier." This is because they all have football block, pregames, TG and other various pairings with top sororities on a year-to-year basis. Every sorority pledge class has their own favorite fraternity, so pairings and favorites can change quite often. Besides those 3, Kappa Sig, Pike, Delt, Phi Delt, FIJI and SAE would be the what is considered "middle" to "upper middle tier." These fraternities have select groups of favorable guys (and select groups of not-so-favorable). Kappa Sig, for example, has a lot of younger guys that sororities like, but their older crowd isn't the greatest. As far as the social scene goes, these fraternities hang out with a mix of middle tier sororities and do some things with top tier sororities. Any other fraternities aren't too well known on the social scene, so I can't give you an accurate run down. In conclusion, the "top tier" fraternities are the ones who spend most of their money on partying and that's where their priorities are. The middle are a bit more balanced, but don't party as much/ as hard.
