Think about why you didn't join the bid you got last year/ why you didn't get a bid/ dropped etc.. Have those reasons changed? If you are going to do formal as a sophomore- make sure you have a resume that stands out above the freshman candidates. Houses are a lot harsher on sophomores so they really want ones that stand out above the rest. Every house here is great, so you should consider giving the 4 doing informal a chance anyways. You can always do formal after doing informal.. But the longer you wait, the more your chances get lower and lower- just something to think about.
