I really do believe they're naïve just like we all are when we first join, and my best friend growing up joined and I see what the negative person up there means as to their knowledge or activities being superficial. Their advisors really care for the girls but they aren't helping them find a niche in the chapter. Unfortunately we all know that you can't be best friends with everyone in your chapter and these girls haven't gotten that yet. All that said I think they are kinda weird, but it's cute, genuine, and atleast they never hid who they were to get in. And maybe they aren't all super hot or even cute, but they've all got personalities because they've had to be nice people to compete with hot girls. So kudos to them, it will take awhile, but they'll get there.
