Thank you for clearing this up - this is super important. As one who did not get her first choice - let me tell you - if you get your second choice, give it a chance. I was pretty upset when I got my bid to my second choice, having had a really smooth recruitment experience with no disappointments along the way. Not getting my number one was a big shock, and I was ready to just walk away from Greek life altogether rather than try it out with number two. My roommate talked me into just giving it a couple of weeks to meet more people, go to events, etc. Fast forward and I cannot see myself anywhere else. I have a lot of friends in my first choice house and, while I still think they're great, I see now why I would never have felt truly comfortable there. The recruitment system seems totally bizarre but it's been in place for years and years for a reason - it works. Trust it. Good luck everyone!
