Being released from recruitment is heartbreaking. I understand those feelings of jealousy and frustration, and I can tell you it will fade sooner than you think. However, I will point to this as a cautionary tale: if you went to pref and were dropped after, that means you chose to SIP, which your recruitment guide and the person supervising your MRABA signing would have told you put you at risk for being dropped. Had you written down both chapters you attended for pref, you would be having a bid day party somewhere, perhaps even your first choice as a quota addition. So while I feel for you and disagree with how that chapter phrased what they said to indicate you were guaranteed a spot (and I’m sure they did want you!) I also know that this could have been avoided. If there are COB opportunities available, I hope you take them because now you see the value in being in any sorority, not just one.
