Definitely both. You can do informal in the fall & see how it goes, but if you dont find your fit, you can do formal in the spring! Plus, go to informal events for even chapters you’re not “interested in”. One, they may end up being a chapter you love & the ones you’re interested in you may hate because they vary so much from school to school. Two, even if you go all the way through and choose to not accept a bid given, it’s great conversation practice for formal recruitment!
