When I went through recruitment, one of the most awkward girls I talked to was in a top tier house. Now, I'm friends with lots of girls in that house and I wish I hadn't judged them based on that first round. One conversation does not define all of the women in a chapter and there's nothing wrong with being a little awkward anyways.
