Most houses want the highest percentage of the pledge class to be freshman with some sophomores. Juniors are always "on the fence". Desirable juniors (high gpa, cute, fashionable, great personality) can still get bids to top houses. Other juniors can get bids but many drop when they aren't asked back to their favorite houses and feel they are too good for others. Rarely are seniors taken except when a new sorority is colonizing. If a chapter is far enough under total, they might be open to pledging you but a senior can't be selective.
