<strong>Subject:</strong><br />the end of recruitment!!<br /><br /> Poster Message:
first of all, i saw several posts over the last 2-3 days directed towards girls who got dropped from places, girls who had a really tough time with recruitment, etc, and i just wanted to say thank you to those posters because they helped me feel a little better. i ended up withdrawing after i got my schedule the morning of pref round. i had really enjoyed being at 5/6 houses i'd visited for sisterhood (2 that i'd had a lovely time at throughout the process), and the sixth was the house i hadn't ever really liked. i was honestly surprised when the only house that asked me back for the last round was this sixth house because they hadn't ever seemed to like me very much, looked very bored/disinterested every time i was there and i never felt comfortable/welcome there. on top of all that, i never even learned about their philanthropy! (other pnms i spoke with told me they viewed a video on their philanthropy there... i didn't even get to see that) while i'm still sad after getting cut from so many other houses after sisterhood (and after having gone through with an open mind and genuinely having a lovely time at nearly every house, with of course some favorites), i stand by my decision to withdraw rather than participating in pref round. having one option made me feel like i'd just force myself to like this house. honestly though, recruitment overall was a good experience for me (up until those final cuts) - i loved to see how much passion girls had for their sororities and organizations, and i enjoyed meeting so many different people. i'm thinking of participating in informal recruitment in the fall, or even going through formal next spring, after taking this semester off to focus on myself. any advice would be greatly appreciated!! and congrats to everyone who got a bid today :)
