everyone already has said such amazing advice. even though i went through formal (and dealt with heavy cuts nonetheless that I took way to seriously at the time) I found my house despite feeling awful about just about all of formal. It felt fake and i felt self conscious about everything. every conversation. my appearance. I felt judged and it hit me hard when i got heavy cuts. I would definitely, as said above, go for informal. It can be something as chill as a starbucks date or too to meet some sisters and depending on that house's rules they can give u a bid. greek life is a really cool thing to be a part of. It is hard to judge a chapter off of the 5 girls u might meet in recruitment. A chapter could look great in recruitment but you might not fit. a house can look like you can't see yourself at all but it might become your home (this was it for me). I am so happy I stuck with it and gave it a chance though. It's been 2 years since I ran home and I almost didn't. I was about to drop when I didn't like the bid i got. My rho gam encouraged me to try it and I'm so glad I did. My point being, you should keep an open mind and give it a chance. it could become your home and change your life. Worst case scenario, if you are absolutely positive after trying it out that it's not for you, then you can drop before initating and try again another time. sorry this was long, but i can't stress it enough.
