Not sure why people are butthurt about recs not mattering. A lot of the time, recs are submitted by alums who barely know the girl. You see that especially in the South, where people reach out to random alums to get a rec letter for each house. So why should actives care about those rec letters? Their main purpose is to get a little more perspective on a PNM. Besides, chapters vary a lot from school to school. Just because a PNM would fit in well at a sorority in one school doesn't mean she'd be a good fit at another school. Why not give her spot to a PNM that would be a better match?
