Of the few I know personally, and the ones I see around campus, yes I would say they're normal. They tend to have a good image, if that's what you're asking. Like cute apparel and not socially awkward. The main thing is that because they're smaller, they do less social events, have less money to work with, and don't have as large a network across the country. Depends what you're looking for. I think they give you guys a chance to meet them during formal recruitment, so it's worth a shot to at least check them out. Otherwise, there are STEM majors in every sorority, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Chances are you'll get matched with them in later rounds anyways so you can ask them about this stuff then too. And rho gams are always a good resource.
