This was the first the semester that student conduct was put in charge of policing greek life. Obviously student conduct is much more strict, and as a result they began to put frat after frat on cease & desist for violating the code of conduct (underage drinking). Obviously 11 frats being on C&D looks bad. Coupled with the situations going on at other schools, the university opted to suspend all fraternities as a way to save face and appear proactive. Nothing legitimately bad happened, its merely OSU executing a power grab over it's hold on greek life.
