No. Grades might be one factor but they aren't THE factor. A few years ago Gphi consistently placed top 5 but that didn't seem to have much of an effect. The first poster nailed it. Reputations die hard and I think the current members are still suffering because of girls who ran the house into the ground years ago. By all accounts their sisterhood is strong, they have heavy turn out for philanthropies, and seem decently involved on campus. For those reasons I have a lot of respect for them. For sure not the strongest of recruiters, but they've improved some over the past 3 years. Unfortunately when every house is in a good place someone has to be on the bottom of the dog pile. The girls there now seem passionate about changing their reputation so it will be interesting to see where the chapter goes over the next few years.
