I am an alumni who just found this website because I googled my former chapter. Wow! What is this page? You are all viscous to each other! Cut throat, man! I graduated in 2008 (won’t say what chapter I was in). We used to talk about other chapters of course but we still got along with everyone. Pretty much everyone knew each other, even if we didn’t meet someone we still knew of them. I’m not sure if it’s still like that or not, but it’s one thing that I really liked about the ODU Greek community. It felt like a small group on campus and we all supported each other. I hope it still is that way because it’s a great support system. When I was active, I know- I’m old! But when I was active we only had five sororities. Alpha Phi, Alpha Xi Delta, Delta Zeta, Pi Beta Phi, and Zeta Tau Alpha. I think there’s more now?? APhi and Pi Phi were basically the same group of girls. Really pretty and hard to get into. Alpha Phi were more the rich New Jersey girls with nice cars and Pi Phis were the preppy/country club girls. A lot of them were from a Richmond. They were both the most sought after. Next was ZTA and AXID. These chapters had a good mix of girls but ZTA were the partiers. And then there was DZ. DZ was making really big strides and they were winning all the Greek awards and were really coming up recruitment wise. They had a few ODU cheerleaders and were a very outgoing group. Anyways, as an old alum I’d like to give some advice to the new girls. Don’t listen to the gossip. Find where you are most comfortable with. You might think you belong somewhere in the beginning of recruitment and then you’ll realize you belong elsewhere by the end. Trust the system. You’ll hopefully make friends with other girls in other chapters throughout your time in college, they’re your Panhellenic sisters so be nice to others! College is only four years but if you’re lucky you can get some really good friends and family out of it. Good luck in FFR! Okay I’m done with this site now. I’ll go back to being old now, bye!
