Hey girl, Definitely go through recruitment and try it out. I personally love UNT and our Greek Life has come along way and like every school, Greek life has it's struggles. UNT as a whole doesn't like Greek life and anytime someone Greek gets in trouble, they make it into a huge deal just to make Greek life look bad. I personally am Greek, and I encourage you to go through recruitment and see for yourself. Greek life isn't for everyone, and honestly on my first day of recruitment I went to half of the houses and wanted to quit. But I stuck it out and am so happy I did, because later that day I went to the house that because my home, my sorority. Whatever sorority you end up at, is where you're meant to be and becomes apart of you, it becomes your home. I am so glad I joined back in the fall of 2011 and spent these last 4 years in my sorority with my sisters. I found my best friends, future bridesmaids, and becoming Greek has taught me so much. However, if you do chose to become Greek, represent your sorority wisely and respectfully. Being Greek means that you become a leader; once you wear those letters, you are not only representing your sorority, but you're representing our school. Our Greek life. You're representing yourself. So do it wisely and become apart of an organization that'll change your life for the better. Don't listen to these comments about how sucky our Greek life is, they are either nongreek or had a sucky experience. But you decide.
