National ranking isn't really a thing, but if you are looking at size or national reputation, ZTA is arguably the largest national sorority of those at NYU (and maybe in the NPC), and you will find their members in pretty much every US city. DG, Pi Phi, and Kappa are comparable but might be more well known in the midwest and south than they are in the northeast. AEPhi, DPhiE, and AST are better known in the northeast, and often have the top chapters at the schools where they are located. In any event, while alumnae network might be a factor, your connection to the women in the NYU chapter is more important than anything else, because those relationships are your reason for joining in the first place. Then consider how their ideals/activities/goals align with your own. Meet members of every chapter and let your feelings be your guide. It doesn't matter what their national "rank" is. Good luck!
