Hey y’all. I wanted to come on here and stay extremely anonymous to ask for advice, it has nothing to do with Greek life at all, but as college students are relatively in similar situations, I wanted to hear some unbiased, completely anonymous advice! Growing up, my aunt used to be treated like gold and my dad horribly. Now in my own life, my dad manifests that hateful energy onto me= treating me horribly and treating all my brothers like kings. My dad has even told me to my face that he hopes I don’t succeed in life, that “i’ll learn my lesson one day”, and that he doesn’t know “how on earth I even got into NYU, and that my degree is useless”. everyone says not to pay attention to his remarks, but as a college student working so hard all the time, it’s so hard to work on a thesis all night long, just to have one of your parents tell you you’re a failure. I’m gonna graduate with honors, my gpa is pretty high, and I’ve never really done anything bad in my life, yet i’m still the “family disappointment”. what would y’all do if you were in this predicament
