I was in a sorority back in 2008, 2009 and had to deactivate for financial purposes. It was a good sorority and I was happy with my overall experience, it just wasn't a fit for me at that particular time in my life. I was going through some tough times (which are now in the past), my grades took a downward spiral, I started having some seriously weird mental issues, my parents cut me off financially, and I could not afford to pay my dues. I had jobs, yes, but the majority of my financial support came from my parents. When I was a member of that sorority, I was clearly not the most well-behaved nor respected member. I did makes some mistakes... Like not studying and having some falling outs with my sisters over boys... which I am sincerely sorry for. Let's be honest, with the competitive Greek system at this school, I was lucky to be a member. After putting myself through school during my last year and working full-time to pay my way, I truly appreciate not only the value of a Miami degree, but also the value of being Greek. Unfortunately, I lost all of my contacts and my number has been changed. It would be really nice to be able to get back in contact with some of my old sisters as I really do think we could add value to each other's lives in more of a way than just finding frat boys to have socials with. Is there any way to do this? I mean the alumni association is great, but I feel so awkward just walking in not knowing anyone. I literally lost all of my contacts.
